About Us
We are a family of dreamers and doers and are always looking for new ways to bring a creative and positive impact to the Laramie community, whether it be remodeling houses, landscaping, or creating something new. Through our many projects, our kids learned many useful and lifelong skills and the importance of passion and hard work.
In 2005 we opened and still own and manage Turtle Rock Coffee, a coffee shop and restaurant across from the University of Wyoming. Starting a restaurant was not something we had ever even considered, but things continued to progress from there, we catered many events and numerous weddings. Creating beautiful centerpieces for the buffet and dessert tables became nearly as important (well, not quite) as the quality of the food and service. Presentation and design were very important.
Echos of Yesterday is a family-run business with mother-daughter duo Angela and Ashlyn in the forefront and we have “lured” (not sure if they would agree that they were lured) our husbands, Andy and Dan, into the mix by doing the heavy lifting, technical details, and handyman work. They are usually pretty good sports about our crazy ideas and honey-do lists. Echos of Yesterday was conceived out of our wedding catering and the beginning collection of décor from Ashlyn’s wedding. We are proud to be a team of experienced wedding coordinators, and event designers who thrive on creating the most memorable weddings and social events locally. Combined we have over 20 years of experience in the wedding and event planning and are so excited about this new adventure we are about to embark on with Black Fox on Welsh.
Meet the Team
ASHLYN
When I was planning my own wedding, I knew I wanted our “big day” to be a beautiful, laid back, and fun party that everyone would talk about for years to come. It was going to be a true reflection of my husband-to-be and myself. When I started looking for venues, I despised the idea of having “set colors” or having my only choices be white, ivory, or black linens, this candle centerpiece, or that, and so on. It wasn’t until I realized that the best reflection of myself and my husband was in the country, flea markets, and the back of old barns that I was able to really get down to business. After finding the perfect pieces that “spoke” to both of us, the wedding just came together. The art of pulling together a wedding at home and making it feel effortless is something I thrive on. Sometimes it is one single item that makes your look, or a combination of smaller items, whatever it be…make it be YOURS! My favorite part of the job is seeing your story become a reality!
I have a real appreciation for antique, vintage, shabby chic, and dreamy detail-oriented items. My favorite finds have come from barns and backwood places. I would LOVE to just travel the country and pick through old barns, and flea markets someday.
Some other things I totally love: My husband, my daughters Leighton and Landree, my mom (who helps me with every aspect of this company and life in general), my antique library ladder in my living room, my English Mastiff Jettson, and my newest addition, our French Bulldog, Mando, Washington State, my iced coffee every morning, and of course… all the little details at weddings!

ANGELA
A perfect day for me is spent antiquing, curling up with my Americano and a good book in my sunroom, dreaming and planning new projects whether it be a house remodel, landscaping, a wedding, or something new for our business. In fact, my husband’s dreaded words are “I have an idea.” Some of my favorite things are my family, cooking, Sunday family dinners (with our growing family, we are up to about 18 for dinner now), my wonderful grandkids, my sweet (and very social) Boxer Mowgli, the smell of fresh herbs and working in the dirt amongst the flowers.
I love everything about the turn of the century: the nostalgia and simplicity, the decor, and the good old-fashioned lifestyle. I adore all things vintage, rustic, primitive, chipped, and delicate. I love items and homes that have the feel of being cherished by someone else for many years.
Friends and family always teased me that I should go into the restaurant business (check! We started Turtle Rock Coffee more than 18 years ago!) or the business of party planning and designing (check! We started Echos of Yesterday about 8 years ago), and now we’ve decided it’s time to expand our creative visions and energy…to you at Black Fox on Welsh!
